Accolades, Award or Notable Achievements

In 2015, I was awarded the Volunteer Standout Performance of the year award at the University of South Florida as an undergraduate student. I volunteer my time at many hospitals and clinics in various settings, ranging from pediatrics to outpatient adult. I also volunteer at a local camp for children with disabilities. In 2015, I also participated in a trip to Italy to research stigma and mental illness, where I worked on a research project that was presented successfully in 2016 and I received honorable mention for my poster presentation on the importance of occupational therapy in the mental health setting. In the end of 2016, I began the OTD program at Gannon University, where I continue to research important topics and learn about the OT field each day. I also write for the Gannon Edge, which is our universities online magazine, where I share my experiences and talk about important related topics. This summer, I am working on research in Ireland and I will be researching homelessness in the US and Europe.
