Kathleen Michele McFeeters
Accolades, Award or Notable Achievements
In early December 2015, the home health agency I was working for lost a wonderfully talented, young RN in a tragic accident here on Maui. In her name and honor, I was the first award recipient for our agency acknowledging my “excellence and the highest performance in patient satisfaction throughout the first half of 2016”, receiving this award was truly an honor for me, yet understandably, it was also bittersweet. In July of 2016, I was also selected as a recipient of the annual “Presidential Scholarship” which has allowed me to pursue my personal and educational goals, while maintaining the highest standards of excellence in the field of Occupational Therapy. I have been more than excited these days and learning so much while pursuing my PYT (Professional Yoga Therapist) certification,a graduate level training in evidence-based, Medical Therapeutic Yoga, which is the practice of yoga in medicine, rehabilitation and wellness settings by a licensed health care professional who is completing or has graduated from the Professional Yoga Therapy Institute program and has been credentialed as a Professional Yoga Therapist-candidate or Professional Yoga Therapist. On July 1, 2016 I was the gracious recipient of the “2016 Tim Bresenden Memorial Scholarship”, I was awarded this special scholarship by inspiring others with my commitment to bringing positivity, compassion, empathy and acceptance into the world by connecting through social media. The social media I actively contribute to are 1. ThinkGood and 2. Kathleen Michele McFeeters. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to learn the ancient art and practice of traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage that I can use with both by occupational and massage therapy clients. Lastly, in the fall of 2016, was the first OT in our agency to complete our extensive “Heart Failure Certification”.
